LOVE – The BIGGEST HIT MOVIE which is running at the theatre in front of me right now.
GOD – The ticket-seller.
LIFE – I don’t have tickets so I’m not being allowed inside.
I know that at this very moment there’s a lot happening in there. There’s romance, suspense, thrill, lust (let’s face it - its extremely important too right?) and intriguing drama. I know there are tons of interesting people inside. I see them walking in and out. I feel jealous every time I see two of them holding hands, the girl leaning her head on the guy’s shoulder. DAMN IT! Then I feel happy as they come out bickering. I deem them stupid, not to value what they already have. The funny thing is that - Good or Bad, I still find myself longing to walk amongst them! I’m DYING to get IN!
Enter - THE BLACK MARKETER – The Devil
BLACK TICKET – The girl who is looking to have some fun for a while. No strings attached.
The black marketer claims that he can get me into the theater. I weigh the pros and the cons.
Pros
There is instant satisfaction. I get to be IN the theater. I don’t have to sit on the bench miserable and all alone watching couples walk in and out.
Cons
It’s without emotions – like the popcorn which is tasty but cold and soggy. It’s empty – like the cola without any fizz. ALL PLEASURES added together can’t compare to ONE MAGICAL feeling that I would derive out of simply holding the hand of my true love. So in the end I will only end up PAYING more for instant yet empty gratification, not to mention ALONE.
I decide I’m going to wait (which might be the same mistake I have made in the past, who knows?) Eventually I get frustrated and stomp to the ticket window with all my courage ….and ….and…..I BEG! Beg the lord to give me just 1 ticket. He says –
‘I’ve been watching you. You’ve been waiting for long. Now I know that your heart is true. So here, I’ll give you two.’
Now I’m sitting on the bench waiting to enjoy the world’s greatest experience. I’m looking around to spot ‘the right girl’. I’ve finally got 2 tickets. Anyone?
